The Numbers Game
On Saturday, July
24, 2010 we will be performing at The Sandbar in the tiny coastal town of Dominion (population
2,142). From there we will drive
2,009km to the city of Toronto, Ontario where we will open for a band called
Primus (band members:
3) at a venue called the Sound Academy (capacity
3,230). We are very excited to both be playing in Dominion and opening for Primus & we wanted to share this with you because we are your #
1 fans.
Miles Davis
Ladies & Gentleman, Roosters & Crows,
We are pleased to introduce a new single to race you through your summer time kind-of-blues. It's called Miles Davis and it's available for download here. We hope you like it.
Back to the Future
With new faces & new aliases we'll make our return to sneaking around the nation, doing it to your eardrums this week. Visit our
Shows section for details on appearances in PEI and New Brunswick in the coming days before we return home to the laboratory to strap a new
flux capacitor on the Good Ship Tommy Fun and blast it from one end of the country to the other, defying sound time and reality.
June 24, 1907
On a foggy day in 1907, Amand D'Amours, a French sailor, left his home to go for a walk along the beach. He never returned. Many years later, a cedar chest washed up on a distant shore. Upon prying open the rusted lock, a hand-held cassette player was discovered inside resting dry as a chip. Attached was a note that read as follows: "In the garden of ancient permanence each has a seed, each seed has a nose, upon each stink the seed will grow. Find your seed a home, let it feed on the beauty of your stinking soul... forever to love, loving shadowy holes, Amand D'Amours"June 20th, 1973
I woke up early this morning. The Sun peeked in at me. Through the roof. It penetrated my eyes. I looked at myself. My mouth was open wide. The light of a train fast approached from the valley of my throat. I never knew this moment would circle back & start over.
